with the cultural competence to meet your needs.

While using health insurance is commonly seen as the better option when starting therapy, it comes at a cost. Oftentimes, your health insurance company may arbitrarily direct you to the therapists near your zip code that they work with. This placement may not take into account your personal needs, schedule, and the background of the therapist. Our nationwide network of providers have been vetted to meet the needs of Black men and their family members. We do the work for you by gathering your information and pairing you with the best fit. You just show up to the virtual or in-person session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I start?

If you have outstanding questions, the easiest way to get them answered is to schedule an intake call here.

What is the difference between Counseling or Therapy and a Wholeness Strategy Session?

Counseling or Therapy services provided by the Whole Brother Mission are considered medical and provided by a licensed practitioner in your state of residence.

A Wholeness Strategy Session is a non-medical service provided by a licensed practitioner, retired licensed practitioner, coach, or Whole Brother Mission facilitator with at minimum a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Does the Whole Brother Mission work with women?

The Whole Brother Mission has a nationwide network of providers. We are able to refer anyone to one of our providers. Women are free to sign up for any of the services listed on our site. Our charitable work has Black men as the target audience. With this in mind, fundraised dollars for free services must go toward Black men.
